Finally! After cutting so many walks short, I was beginning to doubt myself. I got an earlier start and did my whole 15 mile #hike. Rivers, creeks, railroads, dirt trails, and bike paths.
* I wanted more!
* The river was insanely crowded. Glad I didn't go kayaking.
* Nobody else was out hiking in 100F weather.
* I got a new spandex shirt. I wear large but went with Amazon's recommendation of small. "It doesn't have to fit, it just has to stretch." Much more comfortable when sweating. I like it!
In the wet season, this is a huge pond and marsh. Now it's a small creek about ready to dry up. But the receding water has kept everything around it green.
Railroad tracks going off into the distance. The roadbed is covered with leaves. The sides of the right-of-way are a forest.
The American River full of paddle boards and kayaks. It's almost to the point where a squirrel could run the length of the river without getting wet.
