I don't want to discount the pride that the tradespeople and artists have in the results. The last point I'll make is that the reason that #pdx airport used to get such high travel rankings is because it was small, easy to navigate, and yes, mildly quirky (that carpet!).
Decision-makers for the expansion clearly heard that Portlanders were proud of the existing airport and completely misjudged why. People, breathe deep and say it with me:
