Whenever you hear Russians talking about Polish soldiers in Ukraine, and now in Kursk, you need to remember that many Russians think that the Ukrainian language is like Russian with an accent, so when they hear the actual Ukrainian, they think it's Polish.
The most ridiculous example of that ignorance was when a Russian correspondent inspected an RPG and declared that Americans put labels on it in Ukrainian, but using a Latin script... (it was Polish):
