But imagine for a second Biden did choose to wield that power. Imagine if he cancelled student debt in spite of SCOTUS saying he can’t. Or if he decided to dismiss the Supreme Court, or declared Trump an enemy of the people and the him in jail. Congress would leap into overdrive to pass laws to limit the powers of the presidency. Biden could stop that too, of course, but he might hold his hand having made the point and let this democracy get its head screwed back on.
Alas, he’s a Democrat.
