7-x Even if you're not interested in owning one of these maps there's two interesting publications.
The first one is: The RED Atlas - how the soviet union secretly mapped the world. It's an entertaining easy read and nicely produced book.
Buy it at all good bookshops. Not Amazon, as that's not a good bookshop.
Second one is a TM 30-548, Soviet Topographic Map Symbols. It's a nice help in reading these maps. Freely provided by the land of the free @ https://www.geo.lu.lv/fileadmin/user_upload/lu_portal/projekti/gzzf/Kartes/Apzimejumi_un_informacija/Soviet_Apzimejumi.pdf
