Have to wonder what makes the WaPo decide something needs to be a chart, and what that represents. Thinking of @pbump who does great data work for them, and this chart which is...not...so good.
I mean, why is the Y-Axis 50 instead of all Congressional Democrats? The number can't go *down* so what are we really plotting, a slope change? Compared to? Why is one day called out but not any others?
This is just crappy attention grabbing visual for attention grabbing sake.
Bad Washington Post Chart titled "Growing number of Democrats in Congress say Biden should drop out, with 0 to 50 on the Y-Axis and June 27, the presidential debates to August 19th of the Convention as the X. The line irregularly goes up because it can't go down, and it doesn't really so any useful information except as a historical record. It's like the WaPo just wants an eye grabbing picture as they continue to beat the drum for Biden to drop out. It's a bad chart, and bad data presentation at its finest.
