WHAT IS A TYPHOON? IS IT SIMILAR TO A HURRICANE?
Just like toe-may-toe and toe-mah-toe are the same plant, a typhoon and a hurricane are the same weather phenomenon: a severe tropical cyclone with maximum winds above 64kts/75mph/118kph. They are just called different names in different places.
