This is the DAF 33. Introduced in the late sixties, it was part of a line of distinctively Dutch small cars using DAF’s Veriomatic continuously variable transmission that culminated in the DAF 66. This became the Volvo 66 after a takeover and Variomatic also featured in the larger Volvo 340 series. The former DAF operation formed the basis of VDL Nedcar, a contract manufacturer which most recently made Minis. Snapped at Festival of the Unexceptional, 2023.
