I was on a hike recently, and under a bridge I saw a type of graffiti I've never seen before: three small landscape-type images within a much larger wall.

I thought they might be chalk, but I rubbed a corner of one with a finger and nothing came off. They didn't look like marker either: too much texture, plus the white would be an unusual color. Some kind of paint, I guess, but definitely not spray paint.
