Soon multiple local experts were busy explaining the issues of immigration, muslims & "the paki when they don't keep their place".
It was the only time in my life I left a meal half finished.
I spend a year in the Welsh valleys where the German thing also came up. But never in Wales did I feel this would escalate, and never was it that aggressively racist.
Next day at the client the "guys" said "nice place" about that spoons & I figured it best to drop it.
Anyway. I didn't like the town.
