There being malicious browser extensions is not new, what struck me was:
“ as the researchers note, while Google engineers “seem to be looking for malware-containing or policy-violating extensions through their review process” (cue the word “seem”), they apparently have no tools or a procedure in place to detect vulnerable extensions “
A good reminder to keep the number of browser extensions down to an absolute minimum.
