I think the US election cycle is a cycle ahead of UK and France, not behind. Unfortunately, that means my read on things isn’t so bright. We defeated the extremism in 2020. We did that by way of lurching toward a candidate who exuded “normal.” He wasn’t exciting, he just wasn’t the extreme right. I see the same sense from voters for Kier Starker. He isn’t someone with a progressive plan. In fact, his plan is just not as bad as Sunak et al. So there’s likely to be a lot of continuation, eg of
