"People will believe what they want to believe"
Never fully understood this saying because I don't understand how someone can consciously choose to believe something is false solely based on opinion. If I know something is true then I can't just believe its false. So whats meant is probably more the non-conscious process that shapes perception?
How to make people aware of cognitive and social bias? How to counter the argument, akin to self-refutation of relativism, that it's me who's biased?
