@plants Now some bonus shots of Sweet William/Dianthus barbatus on the acreage.

(see earlier posts in the thread for video and blog with more photos and blabber)

Just opening flower head of Sweet William with a pale pink and several white flowers, each one presents a flat face of 5 petals, with serrated edges; against dappled to deeply shaded foliage, including leaves of pink field clover (T. pratense).

nearly full cluster of Sweet William flowers, vibrant magenta pink (most of these flowers have a more purply tint that my camera struggles to capture) some of the flowers have pale frosty markings in the centre 2/3

Hazy afternoon sun golds the green foliage and medium pink flowers with white bands outside the centre and darker centres. @ clusters, in focus to upper right, lower left blurring into background

Almost completely unmarked pale clear pink flowers in a cluster against a blurred tan to brown background of dried grass mulch. We see also some the 'hairy'/spikey growths between buds that give the species its name: barbatus- bearded.
