Ah missed this yesterday so this is 5/4 true lagniappe .
Kid2 is not too big a fan of cakes from bakeries or outside sources - and is quite fixed and precise in her choices (and sugar preferences). So yes, she made her own cake and (we all) ate it too!
Chocolate sponge, with just a light fresh whipped cream frosting.
