Having had my first child go through GCSE I can now say more confidently that I don’t like the English school system. I think it is utterly poor at preparing a child for adult life. It produces lifelong anti-learning.
Unlike many in this article I’m OK with testing, sitting tests is only a problem if you don’t know the answers. We should worry about why so many children can sit through lessons and not know what they’ve just done. Tests are fine.
