#Linguistics question: is there a term for languages whose name is derived from that of a country or region? Like a demonym, but referring to a language rather than a group of people. So, you have "English" < "England", and "Scots" < "Scotland", but "Gaelic" is not derived from a geographical area. So English and Scots are both this kind of language name, as are German and Thai (i.e. they're like demonyms), but Gaelic isn't, neither are Hebrew or Cherokee.
