So much of what I see quoted of Trump just sounds like he was briefed on some topic by staff, who really had to dumb it down, using the most simplified analogies and vocabulary and pictures, and he just can’t grok what they’re telling him. But he thinks he’s brilliant.
Plus, he cannot keep a secret. There is no confidence that will go with him to his grave, as the saying goes. Top secret docs? He’s gotta show them off. “Lookit what I have!” No impulse control.
