I have a really hacky and cursed idea for getting widow previews on #LabWC (copied from a comment I made on my issue):
loop through the toplevels, raise each of them, and take a screenshot with grim or something. The way it would be done is the app that's already focused gets screenshotted, then I'd use wlctrl or something to get the list of toplevels then loop though them calling wlctrl to raise them and screenshotting them. When a window is selected, it will be raised and zoomed back in.
