The sad reality for Starmer (and the country) is that Labour didn’t actually win the election last night.
The Tories lost it.
For all his ‘change’ Starmer only improved Corbyn’s vote tally by a little over 1%. In other words if Corbyn had stayed as leader he’d probably be PM now.
Last night was a function of 14 years of fatigue. Just as 1997 was, when a balloon on a stick could have defeated John Major.
Now watch Starmer unravel, just as Blair did — only quicker.
