Reading posts by @mcmullin and @mekkaokereke about racism in Irish-American communities:
I am reminded of how the Catholic grade school in Saint Paul that I attended for a while was then about 98% white, mostly kids from Irish- and German-American Catholic families.
The Catholic private high schools were then not any less segregated.
Racism manifesting in religious schools in the United States is not unique to the Catholic ones; but it was a striking realization for grade-school me.
