So today by request #breakfast was traditional Kerala puttu
Coarse ground red chemba rice powder is hydrated with salt mixed in and loaded with grated coconut in a puttu steamer (aluminium not bamboo, hello I'm not extreme)
Enjoyed with banana (and a hint of sugar sprinkled on the puttu and mixed in; yes eaten with fingers)
Coarse red rice (looks quite brown) powder mixed with a bit of salt and water and mixed and spread out on a plate to avoid lumps and clumps
Putting steamer on a hot plate. It consists of a bottom water reservoir that gets heated and a cylindrical top tube through which steam passes and exits out of 4 small holes in lid (not visible in this side view)
