I don’t know why anyone would believe Republicans now saying they’re not going to cut social security or support a federal abortion ban, especially anyone as extreme as Tom Cotton or JD Vance. They’ve demonstrated repeatedly that they will lie to get into office then do what they want and even try to override the will of voters on state-level referendums on abortion, etc.
