Another gem from Saturday’s Cambridge and District Classic Car Club annual show - this 1950s Zodiac estate/station wagon from Ford’s British operation. Estates were a low-volume niche option in those days, so Ford contracted the coachbuilding firm E.D. Abbott to carry out conversions on an official basis. Note the unusual side-hinged tailgate. Later estate models, which sold in bigger numbers, were built by Ford itself as standard production line models.
