A quiet afternoon on the hills, punctuated by echoes of the past.
The contour path that G and I are enjoying in the photo was carved out so a member of the Victorian gentry could ride around in her carriage and not have to walk. In fairness, she was pretty old and it’s widely reported that she commissioned her grand works – of which this path is one example – in part to give employment to local people.
