I decided to run my Babylon 5 Blurays through an image enhancement filter based on Machine Learning. Topaz Lab's Artemis model to be precise.

The Bluray release was made from the original film material from the 90s, and is really grainy in some shots. This is one of the really bad ones.

I ran it through a noise filter last time, but the ML-based filter produces a lot better result.

This is also much easier to compress at a high quality.

A frame from the first episode of Babylon 5 showing a drunk Londo sitting on his knees on a long table full of food, waving his arms, while a number of people are sitting along the table watching him.

The image has a lot of fine film grain and digital noise from compressing the film grain.

The image looks smooth and no film grain can be seen.
