I believe more people should know about the Jevons paradox and how it relates to believing innovation alone can solve problems like resource scarcity and climate change.
Essentially this paradox describes the observation that an increase in efficiency causes increased resource usage:

An example are data centers being built all over the world. They may become more efficient, but this also decreases operating costs, making it feasible to build more.
