Scandalous, awful corporate behaviour. Usual 'snow'ing as defence. A fascinating aspect to stories like this is the unchallenged way they use the word 'clinical'. In the research community, this is a complete cop out, part of the ethics dance - sounds official and trustworthy to the public, has no particular legal status. "decided by a detailed clinical assessment" only means that a clinical framework was used, doesn't say much about the training or knowledge who did it

Amongst other instances, the case is quoted of "One former employee - with no clinical training - who described having to search online for advice while waiting to transfer a call from a suicidal person to a counsellor"
