A southern Ontario backroad arrows into the far distance under a sky of pale blue behind cumulus building, the developing cloud loosely organized along the lines of the white paisley pattern on a lovely young lady’s summer dress. The verges of the road are graduated shades of lime green; there is almost no gravel shoulder—rural municipalities cannot afford and do nit need such things. A lone telephone pole—looking like a list telegraph pole from some movie—stands off to the left, supporting two wires only visible where they are near to us. The sky dominates the shot. This could be Alberta or Montana or  who-knows-where further south…
