…So now, this evening, I’ve taken the next step and switched off the ringers on the phones. Now the scammers can call as often as they like and, to them, the phone will just ring out whilst, for me,there is no disturbance. I could still make outgoing calls if I want but, in reality, I plan to ditch the landline when the phones convert to voice over IP later this year. I’ve had my own landline since 1979 so this step, after 45 years, feels historic.
