I've become quite fond of O'Neill tunnel spaceships. In my head I fill the modules with bushes, trees and other plants.
Of course there would be edible plants. In fact, most of the plant life would be part of the sustenance of the ship. It would be a #foodforest. ...by necessity, really.
There would also be bioreactors for growing food with hydrogenotrophs, fermenting food and drink with fungi, and creating products from algae.
The food system creates an excess of food.
