New Automotive’s page also shows that July’s sales have now brought the number of EVs on Britain’s roads up to just shy of 1,140,000 — that’s 3.8% of all the cars registered on Britain’s roads, or about 1 in 25. So far, in spite of the doomsayers, these EVs have not registered any obvious effect on The country’s electricity grid, which pumps roughly 250 Terawatt Hours of energy every year. The grid was delivering 330TWh only a few years ago. The drop is due to more efficient usage.
