There is a bee here with propolis instead of pollen in her pollen baskets. Propolis is amazing stuff. Bees collect it from resinous plants, trees mostly, and its use to sterilise the hive. They coat all they inside with it and block holes with it too. It is very sticky and bees often struggle to get it out of their baskets with another bee trying to pull it out #beekeeping
A frame of mostly sealed worker brood with some gaps with nectar in and some with the grey pollen of blackberry. There is one worker grub visible in one cell near the bottom curled up in her c shape and surrounded by food. A few rows above her is a bee with a shiny brown blob on her back leg, that is the propolis.
