A friend has been feeling low lately and she asked for "light" but voluminous summer reading recommendations from our group. It took me a while to come up with anything (I tend to like what other people feel are dull books) but then this came to mind. It's perfect feel-good reading, long but broken into digestible independent chapters. Like fairy tales it's as deep or shallow as you need it to be.
