Anni Albers. TR II, 1969.
This is not a textile, the medium for which she is known, but a lithograph, a form which she embraced in the 60s after she and her husband Josef were already superstars.
It's a quilting crunch weekend on a deadline in our house (I am not the sewer, just a co-designer, sous-chef and critic!) and my mind is full of these sorts of geometries and subtle balances and variations which ultimately form a more cohesive whole than simple patterns alone.

A lithograph in green and gray with small triangles densely populating the green background. The wide paper border is part of the piece. If her painted work resembles textiles it's because that was her first and most famous love.
