Worked a bunch on my sample player routine from a few years ago, to make it play from a buffer instead. I thought it would make it possible to have various pitches on the samples that are written to the buffer. Turns out the 1 MHz 6510 has trouble keeping up with the timing of roughly 8kHz samplerate. 😩 So it stutters. If I go 4kHz it sounds fine though. So I'll see if I reuse some of it or try incorporating various pitch on the irq sampleplayer routine instead.
