1/2 Nice new paper by @jasonhickel. Like some of his previous work, it makes intelligent use of estimates of the energy and material and energy requirements for building a good life for all found in the literature (Millward, etc.). The concept I find exciting is "public provisioning", that is empirically much more efficient at meeting basic human needs.
