PART 1 - Similar but different

On the left, the dapper GARDEN TIGER with his sleek hair & pristine patchwork coat. On the right, the scruffy pretender, a shabby JERSEY TIGER, bald head and a stripey coat that's seen better days. A that has really let himself go! 😅

Also here, is the Garden Tiger flashing his garish undergarments.

Overhead shot of two similar but different moths. Both are about 4-5cm, so on the larger side. On the left is a Garden Tiger. It is triangular and very smart looking. It has a sleek, jet black furry head. Its coat is black blotches on a white background. The blotches are symmetrical on each wing but generally do not touch each other so there is a maze of white lines around the blotches.

On the right is a Jersey Tiger. Is it also triangular and slightly larger. It has a scruffier appearance. It does not have a furry head, instead it just ends in a point with two eyes. Its coat is similar to the Garden Tiger but its black botches on white, although still symmetrical appear to come in vertically diagonally down from the wing edges almost forming V shapes.

A Garden Tiger overhead showing its hindwings. Its forewings are half opened out. The forewings are black blotches on white background. It has a jet black, neat furry head. its underwings are bright orange with large dark blue circles running along the bottom edge
