Rather disappointing numerically in the moth box overnight. Elephant hawk-moth and Jersey Tigers are flying (but you've seen plenty of them already). Four for today are:

1) Knot Grass (had five of these) - (Top Left)

2) stunning micromoth Pammene regiana - (TR)

3) plain, fidgety and difficult to photograph micromoth Crassa unitella (BL)

4) toggle-shaped Dingy Footman (BR)

Close up of a 1.5cm moth on a finger facing right. It is chunky and arrowhead shaped. It has a minorly furry head. The scales to its wings are largely cold greyscale colouring , though faint hints of warm browns do lie within. The pattern is largely irregular and indistinct but most probably resembles a short-pile carpet with a scale-like pattern. There is a visible black-edge circle stigmata in the middle of the wing

A very small 5mm micromoth facing left. It holds its wings tightly to its body and slightly wrapped or twisted over each other, a bit like a rolled micro-cigar. It is dark grey with a large and very lemony yellow sycamore leaf shaped stigmata on its back which traverses the two wings over its back. The side of the wing near the back has striking flecks of glistening metallic gold and blue, and the bottom edge along the ground has flecks of lemony yellow.

A 3mm micromoth on a finger tip. It faces right. It is plain brown with a tiny yellow pinhead. The wings start straight around the abdomen but if looking head on, they would taper inwards flat towards the end. From the side, the top and bottom edge rise slightly making the rear end lkink up ever so slightly. The very rear edge of its wings are fringed like hair.

Overhead shot of a small toggle-shaped moth facing diagonally to the top right. It is a light dusty, creamy-grey colour, with distinct creamy yellow edges down the very side edge of the wings, It has a yellow pinhead with two black eyes either side, and two thin antennae pointing left and right.
