Proof that Rachel Cusk is good company: I've been travelling in the quiet carriage with her for more than an hour and there's free WiFi and this is the first time I've opened my phone. And I only thought to post this when I noticed a woman behind me craning politely to try to see the cover. Taking the photo made it easy for her. After all, letting strangers effortlessly see the name of the book you're reading is just good citizenship.
My Danish-language paperback library edition of Rachel Cusk's Aftershock. 'Efterskælv.' Sans serif slim black typeface. Broad off-white border. Above: title Efterskælv. Below: author name. Between them: big bland navy-blue image. I think it's the ocean with a thick white fault-line of white foam snaking through it.
