The first of the analyses of July’s car sales is now out from the industry body SMMT. Almost 200,000 EVs have come on the road in the first seven months of the year — 27K in July, representing 18.5% of sales and 18.8% up on July 2023

Two tables of data compiled monthly by SMMT. one is for the month, the other is for the year to date. Both provide registration data for diesel, petrol, pure battery, plug in hybrid and pure fossil hybrid cars, comparing like periods in 2024 with 2023. All the growth is in battery and hybrid vehicles.
