More examples of the sophisticated design style of the 2024 Olympics in Paris that I'm really loving, a style that feels very urban and contemporary to reflect the way the city is pulling off holding the Games relatively cheaply this year (basically, by using almost exclusively existing architecture and venues, ones baked complexly into the pedestrian landscape and history of the city). This feels like a particularly nice Olympics to decide to make my first one to try to stream in its entirety.
Examples of the wry, sophisticated design scheme being used in the Olympics signage in Paris in 2024, to reflect that the Games this year are largely being held in venues that already exist, scattered complexly through the urban landscape of Paris and its hundreds of years of history. (Many cities instead build entire new expensive campuses for their Olympics, and largely lose money, a fate Paris is hoping to avoid this year.) This feels like a particularly pedestrian Olympics this time, and I think the official signage of the event is helping to sell that.
