It’s been difficult to really wrap my head around how deep racism & misogyny really are rooted in American culture. But I think one thing that helps is to imagine being a rich, slave-owning white guy in like, 1800.
What a life. Power, no effort, the entire world designed to be catered specifically to you. Fuck everyone else.
I think the current right wing thinks of themselves as 1800 white guy, and *hates* everything that’s eroded their privilege, as though it is their birthright.
