The primary claim is that the school’s marks increased over the last six years. Why not show that data? Instead they compare the schools marks this year to the average for other “similar schools” this year.
The next part of the claim is that the cause of this is due to teaching methods. Given no indication of the size of the cohorts, basic data literacy would say “could certainly just be luck.”
Data literacy aside, they’re probably right. “Whole language” is disastrous for a lot of kids.
