The process of trying to restore an iPhone that's been locked out at the Apple ID level, which uses the locked iPhone as its only means of verification is... It's as frustrating as you think it might be. I happen to be fortunate that my dad doesn't explicitly need anything on the phone, like bank stuff, health, etc. Because I appear to be completely blocked for at least 24 hours.
I get security requirements are high, but my dad can't be the only person locked out of a phone w/ only a phone.
