So, yesterday I saw a video of someone setting "row len" to how long they wanted that part to run. Today when starting a new song, I did the same thing, and it finally clicked that this might be the solution to my woes.
Here's a look at the madness I had to deal with. It's not easy to describe if you're not familiar with these particular units, but at least note the discrepancies in position, number of loops etc and imagine trying to sync that up into a complete song.
