But I finished Mending Madeline in less than a day and overall had an excellent time with it.
I kind of love it when authors look at the whole "Save the Cat!" structure for plot and pacing and just go "Nah."
Look, there's ten gajillion stories using the One Ideal Formula For Plot And Pacing and I'm not gonna say it doesn't work but I WILL say it's completely fine if yours does something different for a change.
