This is a fairly odd partly fictionalised biography of the Ladies of Llangollen, a couple of late 18th century Irish aristocrats who caused a scandal by fleeing Ireland to set up home together in Wales to enjoy their "Romantic Friendship". It was written in 1935 so while the author is able to be a little more forward in the nature of their relationship than the Ladies' contemporaries knew or could say, it's obviously not Tipping the Velvet.
