Energia family rockets. Brief history!
The RLA designs were Glushko's 1st pass after taking over Korolev's engineering bureau. Intended as a rocket family for all launch needs, up to superheavy, with a spaceplane.
The booster blocks of the superheavy RLA-150 would become first stage of the lightest family member, the RLA-120.
The RLA-150 evolved into Vulkan, which shrank into Energia, and the Energia boosters became the basis for the Zenit series.
Note the unusual Zenit asymmetric version!
