As it turned out, Christian's coarse and rough subjects became a big problem for him, and eight years later, in 1523, Christian and his Queen Isabella (called Elisabeth in Denmark) were deposed and fled into exile. And so Isabella was, in fact, reunited with her aunt Margaret. But only for a couple of years. She died in 1526, only 24 years old, after giving birth to six royal children. She was buried in Ghent in Flanders.
